Sherman Tavern is a historic structure located along Hwy. 25 in front of the
Sherman Elementary School, near Crittenden.
This tavern, as they were called back in the 1800s, was a stagecoach stop. A place to spend the night, eat a meal, get fresh horses, wash up, and be ready to travel to Cincinnati or Lexington the following day. It was built Circa 1811. Many a weary traveler has spent the night at this historic place.
The building is currently being restored by a group called
"Friends of Sherman Tavern"

From Main Street in Williamstown, turn East on Waterworks Rd. Drive about 2 miles. You will see the park on the left.
No vehicles are allowed beyond this point. Walk down the trail to the lake. You'll find several park benches along the trail.
